In celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th Year Anniversary, The People’s Film Festival is hosting a 90 Second Challenge introduced a new category—micro|short|reel, for the “And You Don’t Stop” 90 Second Challenge. Filmmakers, Producers, Artists, Musicians, Creators of all levels are invited to submit their micro|short|reel and enter it into the 12th Annual People’s Film Festival for a chance to win awards and cash prizes.
Tell us how you “did not stop” on your quest to success. What “kept or keeps” you going? How did you overcome obstacles in your life? “What was (or is) your biggest challenge and how are you still challenging yourself? This can be a mini doc, animation, music video or just you simply in front of the camera. Your micro|short|reel should be engaging, informative and have an impact on your audience.
Finalists will be selected by our team of judges which will be screened at the 12th Annual People’s Film Festival in New York City. Winners will be announced at The People’s Awards. This Challenge is Open to Everyone!

Celebrating 50 Years of Hip-Hop!
In celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th Year Anniversary, The People’s Film Festival recognizes some of the greatest Hip Hop pioneers, legends and artists who transformed the hip hop culture as we know it.

The People’s Film Festival 2023
The People’s Film Festival is a 3-day festival comprised of film screenings, art, media, music and technology. Our events include: The Public Media Awards of Excellence breakfast which recognizes independent public & cable access producers, ARTPEOPLE – which highlights artists utilizing all media and the TECH PEOPLE EXPO (TPXPO) which is an exhibition of new technology from some of the most innovative creators in the world. Attendees have the opportunity to engage in 360 Video, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality & Mixed Reality experiences, immersive storytelling, gaming and other tech exhibitors.
Our goal is to introduce and expose new tools and uses of technology in storytelling that are transforming the 21st century today, making this information accessible to all—specifically those in the Harlem community.
Design TPFF’S 2023 Program Cover
DEADLINE FEBRUARY 28, 2023, 12 AM EST
One Winner will have their artwork:
- Used for 2023 TPFF Program Book Cover.
- On display Opening Night at the Magic Johnson Theater, Harlem, NY
- Displayed on screen in between film segments throughout the duration of the festival.
- Displayed on the TPFF website
- Additional prizes TBA
